Janet Maldonado, M.D.

    Janet Maldonado is originally from Chappaqua, New York. She moved to California for college where she was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stanford University. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to perform immunology research in Madrid, Spain. Dr. Maldonado graduated from Harvard Medical School and returned to Stanford University for her internship in Internal Medicine. She completed her residency in Dermatology at the University of California San Francisco where she was chief resident.

    Dr. Maldonado is board certified in Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is a member of the San Francisco Dermatologic Society, California Society of Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery, National Eczema Association, National Rosacea Society, Pacific Dermatologic Society and the National Psoriasis Foundation.  She is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of California San Francisco and participates there monthly.

    Dr. Maldonado enjoys all aspects of Dermatology and has a special interest in the evaluation of pigmented lesions and early detection of melanoma.   She enjoys seeing patients of all ages including children.

    Dr. Maldonado is an accomplished violinist and holds a black belt in karate. She loves to dance, play sports, travel and spend time with her husband, Steve, and two daughters, Natalia and Julia. She is fluent in Spanish.
